Bible Baptist Church   Beliefs
1. Doctrine of the Scriptures
We believe in the Bible as the verbally (every word) and plenary (completely) inspired Word of God as contained in the original manuscripts; that all portions of Scripture are equally inspired and contain no contradiction; that the Scriptures are to be the only rule of faith and practice for the believer in Jesus Christ; and that the Canon, the sixty-six books of the Bible, is complete. Nothing shall be added to it nor taken from it. We believe the King James version of the Bible to be the most honest and reliable English translation and recommend its use.
     II Timothy 3:16, 17; Hebrews 1:1; II Peter 1:20, 21; Revelation 22: 18,19.
Example: Of Creation. We believe in the literal interpretation of the Genesis account of creation; that the days are regular days of 24 hours each, or solar days and not ages or epochs; and that man came by direct creation of God, and not of evolution. Genesis 1 and 2.

2. Doctrine of the True God
We believe there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite Spirit, the Creator and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, love, and obedience; that in the unity of the God head there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.
    Exodus 20:2,3; I Corinthians 8:6; Revelation 4:11; I John 5:7.

3. Doctrine of Jesus Christ
We believe in the essential deity and virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ; that He was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary not having human father, and is true God and true man; that He is man’s only hope of salvation from sin, being the only mediator between God and man; that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day for our sins according to the Scriptures; that His return for His Church, the Body of Christ, which He will take with Himself into heaven is imminent; and that He will come to this earth to set up His millennial reign.       Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-4; John 10:30; John 14:6; I Timothy 2:5,6; I Thessalonians. 4: 13-18; Revelation 20:4-6.

4. Doctrine of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, co-equal with God the Father and God the Son and of the same nature; that He was active in the creation; that in His relation to the unbelieving world He restrains the evil one until God’s purpose is fulfilled.; that He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that He bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony; that He is the agent in the New Birth; that He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, and helps the believer.
    Genesis 1:1-3; Matthew 28:19; John 3:5; John 14: 16,17; John 14:26; Romans 8:14; Romans 8:16; Romans 8: 26,27; Ephesians 1:13,14.

5. Doctrine of Man
We believe that God created man in His own image and that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is conscious and eternal separation from God. We believe that all men are born with a sinful nature, evidenced by sinful acts; that man is totally depraved; and that if he is not born again, he is eternally lost.
    Genesis 1:26,27; Romans 3:10-23; Romans 5:12; I Corinthians 15:21,22; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:8; Psalm 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Luke 16:23.

6. Doctrine of Salvation
We believe that a person is saved when he repents of his sin and exercises faith by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. The believer is kept by the power of God and is eternally secure in Christ.
We believe that the scope of salvation includes forgiveness of all our sins past, present, and future; a perfect standing before God as in Jesus Christ; and the changing of our earthly body to be conformed like unto the body of our Lord at His return for His own.
We believe that the attitude either of reconciliation or enmity toward God is eternally fixed at death. We further believe that there is an appointed day for the judgment of the wicked when they will be cast into the Lake of Fire, there to remain in everlasting conscious punishment and torment.
    John 1:12; John 5:24; John 10:28,29; Romans 6:23; II Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:8,9; I John 5:17; Romans 8:19-23; I John 3:2; II Thessalonians 1:7-9; Hebrews 9:27; II Peter 2:9; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:8.
        a. Justification – We believe justification means to declare righteous, not to make righteous. It is an act of God by
which He declares a sinner, who has received Christ as His Saviour, to be no longer under condemnation, but to have a standing of righteousness before Him. It includes the remission of sin, including the removal of their guilt and penalty, by the reckoning of Christ’s righteousness and the restoration of God’s favor to the believer, apart from any works or merit on the part of the believer.
Isaiah 53:11; Acts 13:38,39; Romans 3:24,28; 4:5, 5:1,9; 8:1, 33,34; II Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:8,9.
        b. Security of the Saints and Their Assurance – We believe that all who are truly born again are kept by God the Father for Jesus Christ. It is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of salvation through the    testimony of God’s Word; which however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh.
    Galatians 5:13; Romans 6:1,2; 14-16; I John 5:12,13; Ephesians 4:30; 1:12-14; Romans 8:1; 38,39; Philippians. 1:6; Jude 1.
           c. Sanctification – We believe that sanctification has a two-fold meaning; (a) that of setting apart of things, days, or persons specifically for God, and that the believer at the time of his regeneration is so set apart by God the Father; (b) the progressive work of the Holy Spirit whereby the believer, obedient to the Word of God, experiences the power of the indwelling Christ for holiness of life, victory over the old nature, and cleansing from the defilement of sin, which work will be completed when the believer stands in Christ’s presence at the resurrection of believers.
    John 17:17; I Corinthians 1:30; II Corinthians 3:18; Colossians 1: 26-28; I Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 10:10-14; I Corinthians 1:2; I Thessalonians 4:3; I Thessalonians 3:12,13.
        d. Believer’s Two Natures – We believe every saved person possesses two natures, with provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit; that all claims to the eradication of the old nature in this life are unscriptural.
    Romans 8: 1-13; Ephesians 4:22; Colossians 3:10; I Peter 1:14,15.
        e. Separation – We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; that separation from all religious apostasy (departure from the Bible faith), all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God.
    II Corinthians 6:11; 7:1; II Corinthians 6:17; 11:4; I Timothy 6:3-6; II Timothy 2:16-18; Romans 16:17; 12:1,2; Titus 3:10; II John 9:11; I Corinthians 5:7-13; Galatians 1:8,9.

7. Doctrine of the Church
    a. The Church as the Body of Christ – The Church in this sense is composed of all true believers in Jesus Christ from the Day of Pentecost until the coming of the Lord for the Church. The body of Christ is being formed by the Holy Spirit placing them into this body which the Bible speaks of as the Baptism of the Spirit. When this Body is complete, the Lord will come for it and take to Himself as His Bride.
    b. The Local Church – We believe that the Local Church is:
       (1) composed of a local group of believers who are autonomous, self-governing, and have no ecclesiastical organization in authority over it;
       (2) composed of believers who are baptized by immersion;

8. Doctrine of Satan and Fallen Angels
We believe that Satan is a person. He was created perfect but sinned and became the arch enemy of God and His creation. He is the chief adversary of God’s children. He seeks to keep man from the Lord, and when he cannot succeed in this, he seeks to weaken the testimony of Christians. He blinds the minds of unbelievers, and opposes and accuses believers. He has at his command a great host of fallen angels and demons to carry out his purposes. He is not omnipotent and can be overcome by the power of God. His doom is sealed in the Lake of Fire for ever and ever.
    Ezekiel 28:12-19; Isaiah 14:12-14; Revelation 12:10; 20:10.

9. Doctrine of Civil Government
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interests and good order of human society; that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed, except in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the only Lord of the conscience, and the coming Prince of the Kings of the earth. We believe in separation of Church and state.
    Romans 13:1-7; II Samuel 23:3; Exodus 18:21,22; Acts 23:5; Matthew 22:21; Romans 13: 1-4; I Timothy 2: 1,2.

10. Doctrine of Last Things
We believe there will be a resurrection of all, first the just at the coming of Jesus Christ and finally the unjust after the millennium. The saints are raised to be forever with the Lord, and the unsaved will be confined for eternity in the Lake of Fire. We believe in the “Blessed Hope” which is the personal, bodily, pretribulational, premillenial, and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour for His Church (the rapture) and His later return to the earth in power and glory with His saints to set up His Kingdom (the millennium).
    John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9; Acts 24:15; I Corinthians 15:3-20; Philippians 3:20,21; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Hebrews 7:25; 1 John 2:1,2; Revelation 21: 1-8; II Thessalonians 2:1-5; Matthew 24:20-22.
